5 Personal Touches to Make Your Wedding Unique:
Include Personal Photos
Including personal photos of you and your partner is a memorable way of giving your guests a deeper insight into your love story. One amazing touch that we’ve seen here at Kelmarsh, is a timeline of our couples ‘firsts’. This was located in our Huntings Passage and began with their first ever message, moving on to their first ever selfie, their first family photo with their dog, and so on. Not only was the timeline special to our couple and something they could take a moment to look back on together, but it also shared parts of their story with their guests.
Creating a Memoir for your Guests
If you’re thinking of creating save the dates but are worried your guests might lose their invitation, then creating something that they can keep as a memoir is a great way of avoiding this. The exciting part about save the dates is that you can style them around your wedding scheme to give your guests a sneak peek of what to expect. If you were to have a rustic themed wedding, then a wooden magnet with engravings would fit perfectly for this – your guests can add it to their fridge and be reminded each time they head in for that midnight snack. You could always then continue the theme throughout and follow up with wooden place settings with your guests’ names, something that they will definitely want to take home as a keep’s sake.
Live Drawings or Painting
Although we are yet to welcome a live drawer or painter at Kelmarsh Hall, it is absolutely an up-and-coming trend that is very sentimental. They would set up in a place where your guests are always passing and could have their photo taken throughout the day. The very talented supplier would then sketch the photo for you to either create a scrapbook or for your guests to take home. Another amazing touch that you could ask for, is for a sketch of a special moment of your choice, this could be the kiss at the end of the aisle or your very first dance as a married couple.
Photobooth Guest Book
There are so many different ways of creating a guest book, but a photobooth is a growing trend. Whether you hire in a photobooth supplier or create your own, this can be such a fun activity for your guests to get stuck into. If you would like to create your own then polaroid cameras are amazing for this, the pictures are instant, and guests can stick them into the book and write their message for you beside it. When you look back on your guest book, you’ll be able to see the memories that your guests created and see moments captured that you perhaps didn’t see.
Advice to the Newlyweds
A special touch to your day could be to include advice from your guests. These can be done in a way that suits your wedding scheme. For example, notes in a jar, or wooden hearts in a clear frame. The idea is that your guests write their best piece of advice for the newlyweds and you can look back on their words of wisdom for years to come. Another way this could be done is by having your videographer ask your guests what their advice is and creating a montage. This will be a nice visual that will never age and could be included within your wedding video.
