At Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens we offer you and your pupils a range of opportunities for exploring learning outside the classroom, whatever the weather!
Our engaging and inspiring educational programs have been devised by our Learning Coordinator who is a qualified experienced teacher.
Each program aims to provide cross-curricular learning opportunities in innovative historic and beautiful natural settings.
We’ll bring life to a range of Primary curriculum topics in ways that are not possible in the classroom!

Bring your class or educational group to Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens for an opportunity to learn about the natural environment, wildlife or experience Victorian working life below stairs in our exhibition.
Outdoor Education
EYFS, KS1/2 programs include:
Minibeast- Go on a hunt to meet some minibeasts in our woodland, then find out fascinating facts about these animals.
Habitats- Discover what goes on in a woodland habitat and which species live in them.
Make clay minibeast and homes for a woodland creature using natural materials.
Life cycles- Learn how animals go through different stages in their life.
Seasons Changes – Explore and spot changes in the woodland and garden areas by going on tails and scavenger hunts.
Trees- Track down different trees in the woodland. Learn about the importance of trees and the function of different parts of a tree. Find if a tree is deciduous or evergreen.
Plants- Learn about different plants, how they grow, and how they play a very important part in healthy eating.
Woodland fun- Enjoy the outdoors as you learn the art of shelter building, experience different woodland crafts, follow nature trails and make a stickman.

Life below stairs in a Country House
Step back in time and explore Victorian life in our servant’s quarters. Our bespoke programs are led by costumed educators who help your children to discover what it was like to be a servant at Kelmarsh Hall. Children will carry out duties such as working in the laundry, cleaning rooms, polishing silver and cooking food.
