Christmas Magic in the Great Hall
Give your guests a magical welcome they’ll never forget in our beautifully adorned Great Hall. Painted in warming Lancaster pink and dressed for the season with twinkling lights, winter florals, and a cosy crackling fire, the Hall becomes a truly enchanting space at Christmas. With comfy sofas and a relaxed, homely feel, it’s the perfect place to start your celebration.
The Great Hall is ideal for a welcome drink reception, with space for up to 100 guests to mingle, toast, and soak in the festive atmosphere. Add your own personal touch to the Great Hall desk with family photos, a seasonal welcome sign, or a card box to make the space feel even more special.
Festive Elegance in the Saloon
The beautiful Saloon, painted in a serene Soul of Blue, transforms into a peaceful yet luxurious setting for your Christmas celebration. Whether you’re hosting a festive drinks reception, an elegant afternoon tea, or a seasonal meal, this refined space offers stunning views across the wintry parkland—making Kelmarsh feel like your very own country home for the day.
Once used by Nancy Lancaster for lavish parties and glamorous cocktail evenings, the Saloon continues to bring people together in timeless style.You’re welcome to invite other live acoustic musicians, or simply set the tone with your own playlist on our sound system. Perfect for intimate Christmas gatherings, the Saloon can host smaller parties around one large table, or seat up to 70 guests on round tables for a joyful celebration to remember.
The Ballroom – Where Christmas Sparkles
The largest of our event spaces, the Ballroom is a showstopping setting for your Christmas celebration. Originally built in 1873 as a lavish party space, this elegant room was made for entertaining—and it still shines today.
With sweeping views of the frosty parkland and twinkling lights on the tea terrace, the Ballroom is filled with festive charm. Its grand mirrors, detailed fireplace, and intricate woodwork create a magical backdrop for a seasonal feast or an evening of dancing on the original wooden sprung dancefloor.
The Ballroom can host up to 100 guests for a seated Christmas meal and up to 150 for a sparkling standing reception.

Wreath Making Workshops – seasonal Wreath Making our in-house team can give you a relaxing and peaceful afternoon with greenery cut from the historic gardens and a choice of festive decorations.
Wellbeing Activities – we are delighted to work with local practitioners offering different wellbeing activities for your events, whether it’s yoga or pilates’ on the back lawn, or Qi Gong and sound bathes in the Ballroom.
Historic Hall Tours – enjoy a tour around Kelmarsh Hall with one of our fabulous Hall guides, exploring the beautiful fine rooms, exhibitions and servants quarters.
Pottery Painting – perfect for corporate event activities, or families of all ages!
We are also able to hire in other specialists to Kelmarsh whether it be for pizza making, a private chef, watercolour art sessions, or still life drawing we can cater for all!
