A History of Entertaining at Kelmarsh Hall…
The Saloon and the Ballroom make the perfect setting to host and entertain your guests within the Hall. Just beyond The Great Hall, The Saloon was in fact designed to be the ideal setting for entertaining and was the main room for entertaining until Naylor had The Ballroom built with a sprung dancefloor in the 1860’s.
Here are a few ideas of inspiration on how you can entertain your wedding guests, within the most idyllic setting at Kelmarsh Hall.
Day Time Live Music
The Saloon is home to the baby grand piano, which can be played during your ceremony and throughout your drink’s reception. There is also the option of having other live music throughout your wedding day, such as a harp or string quartet. This live music can guarantee to enhance the peaceful abundance of Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens throughout your day, whilst providing an elegant and relaxed atmosphere to your drinks reception.
Garden Games
Garden Games are the perfect way to entertain your guests during your drinks reception while you are off for photos as newlyweds! Here at Kelmarsh Hall we provide the use of our garden games in our wedding package, including games such as Giant Jenga, Bowls, and Croquet.
Singing Waiters
Recently we have seen several couples surprise their guests with singing waiters during their wedding breakfast. At first, they appear to be normal waiters, pouring drinks and serving food, before they surprise guests with their signing performance. This is a unique way to excite and entertain your guests before the evening party has even started.
Evening DJ or Band
Whether you would like live music or a DJ to encourage your guests to get out onto the dancefloor, the Ballroom provides the perfect space for your guests to sit, dance, and enjoy the music. Some couples choose to have a band-DJ combination, where the band performs for the first dance and the beginning of the evening party, ready for the DJ to take over for the rest of the night. While others decide to have either a DJ or band that tailors to the music that they both love and want to have as the soundtrack for such a special celebration.
Firework Display
In a previous blog post, we had the lovely Steph and Tim, who previously got married here at Kelmarsh Hall, share their wedding story, including their surprise firework display from an aeroplane! The couple mentioned how the display was the highlight of their wedding for many of their guests. Guests can enjoy the view of the display on the black lawns of the Hall after their guests are gathered for sparklers, providing the perfect opportunity to surprise them. Here at Kelmarsh Hall we are delighted to recommend two trusted and high-quality fireworks companies.
