On the Day of your Visit:

We want you to enjoy your time with us and for the day to run smoothly. We will greet your group to welcome you and to ask all members of your group to stay on the coach (if applicable) or
to meet outside the Visitor Centre on arrival. A member of our team will meet you there, and provide your admission stickers and an orientation of the site.

We have worked hard to ensure that our visitors can access as much of the site as possible, with as few restrictions as possible. The Gardens are widely accessible by wheelchair, with ramps and slopes provided in areas with uneven terrain. We advise wheelchair users to bring a pusher to assist due to the gravelled pathways.

Ramps and lifts are in place to provide almost complete access to the Hall. We have two platform lifts, one for the main Hall and one to provide access to the laundry block, and have ramps for
rooms with small steps. When booking, please let us know of any mobility issues, so we can advise on the best way to access the Hall and Gardens ahead of your visit.

As part of your visit, we offer a complimentary ten minute talk for groups before they begin their self-guided visit to the hall, to provide an overview of the Hall’s history and the families who lived here.

Catering on the Day

Located in the Visitor Centre, our independent tearoom serves refreshments, cakes and light lunches. A group menu is available. Our tearoom is small, so we ask that groups order their refreshment needs from the group menu.

Please liaise with the tearoom regarding order specifics and payment. Depending on the size of your group, meals may need to be staggered. We will liaise on timings with you to ensure that there is ample seating.

Directions and Parking

• Travelling on the M1 or M6
• Leave the M1/M6 at Junction 19 and join the A14 at the M1/M6 interchange
• Leave the A14 at Junction2 and turn left onto the A508 signed Kelmarsh and Market Harborough.
• Enter the village of Kelmarsh. The entrance gates to the hall are on the left at the crossroads.
• From Northampton, Kelmarsh is on the A508 towards Market Harborough/Leicester.
• From Leicester/Market Harborough, Kelmarsh is on the A508 towards Northampton

For visitors arriving by car, we have two car parks along the drive – a main car park and an overflow car park. Disabled parking is on the gravelled drive, in front of the visitor centre.

Getting to Kelmarsh by Coach

Use the main Hall entrance (the gateposts look narrow, but they are fine for coaches)

• Please do not drive on the gravel circle surrounding the grass circle.
• Coach parking is on the main drive, on the right-hand side (this is the embarkation/disembarkation point)
• Please do not block the drive as vehicles will need to pass the coach at all times
